This policy explains what Reweavly does with your information. We’ve tried to write it in plain English rather than legalese, because a privacy policy you can’t understand isn’t much use.
Who we are
Reweavly is provided by Yorkshire Web Solutions Limited, a company registered in England and Wales.
- Address: 25 Norwood Drive, Sheffield S5 7BH, United Kingdom
- Email: icookedsupport@yorkshire-web-solutions.co.uk
- ICO registration number: ZC211046
We are the data controller for the information described here.
The short version
Reweavly turns what you say or type into a mind map. To do that, your words are processed by speech-recognition and AI services. Your maps are stored on your device and, so they’re not lost, backed up to our cloud. We don’t sell your data, we don’t advertise to you, and we don’t build profiles about you.
What we collect
The content you create. The text of your cards, notes, map structure, folder names, and answers you give to research questions. This is the substance of the app and it’s stored so you can come back to it.
Voice input. When you use the microphone, your speech is transcribed into text. Audio is used only to produce that transcript — we do not store recordings.
Your account. Reweavly works without an account. So that your work can be saved and synced, an anonymous identifier is created for your device the first time you open the app — this isn’t linked to your name or email. If you later choose to add an email address, so you can use Reweavly on more than one device, we store that address. We never store a password; sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your email.
Subscription information. If you subscribe, we receive your subscription status and a transaction identifier from Apple or Google. We never see your card details or payment information.
Technical and diagnostic information. Platform, app version, and error and crash reports, so we can find and fix problems. Crash reports are configured not to include your personal identifiers or IP address. Basic usage counters (such as how much free capacity you’ve used) are kept on your device.
Support correspondence. If you email us, we keep that correspondence so we can help you.
What we don’t collect
We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photos, advertising identifiers, or your browsing history. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We do not sell your information to anyone.
Why we’re allowed to use it (lawful bases)
- Performance of a contract — providing the app, your account, and your subscription.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and fixing crashes. We’ve considered your interests here and kept the data to the minimum that achieves it.
- Consent — microphone access, which you grant through your device and can withdraw at any time in your device settings.
- Legal obligation — keeping financial records.
Who else processes your information
We use a small number of service providers. They act on our instructions and cannot use your information for their own purposes.
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Cloud storage and backup of your maps, and account sign-in |
| OpenAI | Turning your words into cards, summaries and suggestions |
| Deepgram | Speech-to-text transcription |
| Apple, Google | Speech recognition on your device, app distribution, and purchases |
| RevenueCat | Managing subscriptions |
| Resend | Sending your sign-in codes by email |
| Sentry | Crash and error reporting |
| Cloudflare | Hosting and delivering our website |
To generate cards, summaries and suggestions, the text of what you say or type is sent to our AI provider for processing. Under our current arrangement with them, this content is not used to train their models, though they may retain it briefly to detect misuse of their service.
Where your information is stored
Your maps and account information are stored in the United Kingdom (London). Sign-in emails are sent from within the European Union (Ireland).
Some of our providers are based in the United States, so certain information is transferred there. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses, together with the relevant approved transfer frameworks.
How we protect it
Your information is encrypted in transit. Our database enforces access controls so that your maps and account can only ever be reached by you. We never store passwords — sign-in uses a one-time code — and we never see or store your payment details.
No system is completely secure, so we can’t promise absolute safety. The App can export your maps as Markdown at any time, and we’d encourage you to keep your own copies of anything important.
Automated decision-making
Reweavly uses AI to generate and organise the content of your maps. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies and local storage
Our website uses only the cookies necessary to make it work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
The App stores information on your own device — your maps, your settings, and a token that keeps you signed in. This stays on your device and is not shared with anyone. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app removes it.
How long we keep it
- Your maps and content — for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and they go with it.
- Audio — never retained.
- Crash and error reports — 30 days.
- Purchase records — as long as we’re legally required to keep financial records, typically six years in the UK.
- Support emails — kept while needed to help you, then deleted.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. It’s immediate and can’t be undone.
If you no longer have the app installed, email us at the address above and we’ll do it for you.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you
- correct anything inaccurate
- erase your information
- restrict or object to how we use it
- portability — receive your information in a usable format
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it
To exercise any of these, email us at the address above. We’ll respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information. You can reach the ICO at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first, but you’re entitled to go straight to them.
Children
Reweavly isn’t intended for anyone under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. In some countries the minimum age for consenting to online services is higher — please check your local rules. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app.
